Back in New York! Or at least here on my blog. Boy did I get lucky with this one! A press trip to the Big Apple with Levi’s to discover their new Lot 700 jeans collection. The brand is one of my longterm loves: one of the few I started wearing long before I even knew what fashion was. It comes from the heart, so to say! Thus, when a bunch of my fave ingredients come together (the brand, the city, the time of the year), it’s hard not to have a good time. Not even the sweltering heat could stop us! We had loads of time to explore, lovely dinners and lunches, a fantastic hotel room (we stayed at the Standard, with the sickest view over the Empire State building) and one hell of a party – all in good company.
So what was it all about? Levi’s is introducing the new Lot 700 collection for women, with Alicia Keys starring in the campaign. And with this one, they’re going back to basics. I feel like this is a trend we’re all embracing in general, why change something that is just really good? I spoke to the CPO Karyn Hillman briefly before the launch party and she explained to me “We took these jeans around the world to nine different cities and polled thousands of women to find the perfect fit for a lot of different bodies.” Organized by leg shape, Lot 700 encompasses everything from skinny to bootcut, with various degrees of stretch in them for everyone’s comfort – without losing shape. I guess most of you guys will have a preference when it comes to fabric and fit, for me the choice was an obvious one: the 721 high rise skinny. Which one would you choose?
