TOP LIP SHADES TO ADD TO YOUR MAKEUP COLLECTION THIS SPRING

Spring is my favourite time of the year, especially in New York when the trees are blossoming and everything is so beautiful. It’s such an exciting period because it is the time to put all the winter clothes back in the closet and bring out the Spring/Summer wardrobe. When a different season arrives, new makeup trends are introduced and this spring calls for a brighter, beautiful set of colours. Thus it is time to refresh your makeup routine with some of my favourite lipsticks in stunning shades available on the current market. However, I must first share with you a simple guideline in to choosing the perfect shade.

NEW YORK SPRING

A person can either have a cool, warm or neutral undertone and each have a set of colours that best suit a particular skin tone. There is a very easy way to figure out what colour undertone you possess by looking at the veins on the inside of your wrists. If your veins are blue, then you have a cool undertone. Whereas if they’re green, then you are a warm toned person. If it’s hard to depict what colour your veins are, then you may very well be a neutral toned person. In this case, you are very fortunate because every single lipstick shade suits you! I’ve played around with different shades of lipsticks ever since I started applying makeup and these are a few of my ultimate favourites specifically for this season.

Cool undertones: Cherry Red, Rosy pink, Mauvy pink, Beige, Purple Plum
#1 M.A.C Retro Matte Lipstick in colour “Ruby Woo”
#2 Hourglass Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity Lipstick in colour “My Icon”

Warm undertones: Coral Red, Maroon red, Dark Plum, Peachy Pink, True Red, Ginger Brown
#1 Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint in colour “Uncensored”
#2 Kylie Cosmetics Mary Jo K Lip kit

Neutral undertones: Nudes, all reds, pinks, purples, orange, and brown shades
#1 Giorgio Armani Beauty Rouge D’Armani Lipstick (400)
#2 Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in colour “Very Victoria”

Just a reminder that all of the above are simple makeup guidelines and a couple of my personal favourite lipsticks. It is not meant to discourage those from exploring different options or impose on a person’s creativity. If you love a particular colour, I suggest you wear it with pride and a beautiful smile of which I’m sure it’ll look just lovely regardless.
