HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR SUMMER CLOTHES WHEN IT’S COLD

How to make the most of summer clothes when it’s cold? This might sound strange to you Dutchies, who look outside and think: “Cold? It’s 30 degrees outside”. Yeah, so today perhaps not so much. But remember Tuesday? Like 3 days ago Tuesday? Precisely my point. So how are we beating the fall weather in summer? This is how I try to survive. Curious if you do the same.

1. Trenching. Or bombering. This sounds a little aggressive somehow, but you’ll get the picture. I love coats, as a Dutch I have too, they’re the perfect layering piece. And with loads of options this summer, it’s a fun way to mix and match. A coat can instantly upgrade your look, the fact that it’s warmer as well is just another plus.

2. Oversized sunglasses. Duhh. Whoever thinks that sunglasses are just for high summer: think again. We can wear them all day every day, whenever we want. In winter the sun can be just as bright, and on colder days this time of the year it could make us feel like we’re actually having summer weather. I’d even sport them on grey-no-make-up-days.

3. Suede. We’re so lucky this season! Suede is definitely THE fabric this summer, and we here in Northern Europe should be pleased about that. So much warmer than wearing denim or cotton. Try a suede button through skirt with a long trench (look coming up) and you’re good to go! Long trousers what?
