Part deux in the modern fairytale series in collaboration with might be the most extravagant one. Now I must admit, this dress is not one to walk around in all day, but it sure as hell is gorgeous. So dreamy! Sometimes you just have to go all out, and I guess that’s the theme of this shoot. Just because. People seem to find all the excuses in the world not to dress up and go for those jeans and sneaker combination again. Now don’t get me wrong: there’s no harm in doing just that, it’s just not always very exciting at the same time. It’s good to switch things up from time to time, what’s the worst thing that could happen? That people might think you’re overdressed? And if so: does it really matter? It’s obviously a matter of taste as well, it’s simply not for everyone to wear those crazy or out-there dresses during the day or at all, but if you do, here are my next three tips:
- Try booties. You would wear those anyway right? Just pair them with that dress this time around, and you’ll feel more comfortable instantly. It brings that edge too, and sometimes that’s all we need. You can’t really see them in these shots, but knowing you’re comfy and flat under those layers of fabric means a lot.
- Accessorize. It’s usually in the details, right? And this shoot was no exception. Imagine that dress without a chunky necklace and statement watch – would be so much more “boring” right? Little things can do a lot!
- Layering. Now this is something I couldn’t do because of the heatwave here in New York, but would definitely try back home in Amsterdam. Wear your dress with an oversized denim jacket or leather biker and you could be surprised by the difference it makes.
