If I could book a one way ticket to Mexico right now, I probably would. But that’s not real life now is it? Well, for a week it was. Being totally and utterly spoiled, not having tot hink about one single thing apart from food and relaxation. I always thought I would not be the type for all-inclusive resorts. The whole “not going out of your hotel” didn’t sound very appealing to me. Hoidays are there to explore, venture out and discover the country or city your in. Eat local food and try new things every day. But guess what? I changed my mind. Staying at the Azul Beach Resort, part of the Karisma Hotel Group, made me love all-inclusive pleasure for now and probably ever. Not always, every single trip I make, but definitely those trips I NEED to make to fully recover from a very hectic work schedule. I had to take a break on order to stay sane, so when it comes to a situation like that – this arrangement is everything and more. All I needed. A ticket, off to paradise for a week without a single worry on my mind. And with that I mean absolutely no worries: there was a spa, 5 different restaurants to choose from, multiple bars (a tequila bar!), a gym, ice cream stand where we could also get crepes, a whole bunch of pools and let’s not forget about the beautiful beach. A margarita a day keeps the doctos away no? Although I wouldn’t have minded to stay within the resort for the full week, we did decide to do a little roadtrip (the hotel helped us with the car arrangements and tips for local restaurants etc.) to Tulum and the Cenotes one day. A little culture never hurt nobody and this day left me craving for more Mexico in my life. In addition to that we visited two other properties of the Karisma Hotel Group, the Eldorado Maroma (one of the top 10 beaches in the world!) and the Azul Sensatori (20 course award winning tasting menu anyone?). It was short, but oh-so-good.

I guess the photos speak for themselves, no? Apart from all of this, my company was the best I could wish for: next to Ralph of course (what would I do without him?), Zanita and her boyfriend Gustav were also there and they made this experience one to never forget. We’re already thinking about doing something like this on a yearly basis, it was the perfect start of the year. Thank you Azul Beach Resort for making it happen, and a huge thanks to my friends and husband for making the trip so unforgettable. On to the next one!
