CHAPMAN’S PEAK

This shoot is probably one of my favorites. The location, the light, the jumpsuit. I decided to use this location for the second editorial shot for Reiss because it’s next to the most stunning drive you’ll find in the Cape Town area. They use this road quite a lot for car commercials too, and I totally get why. The widespread views of the bays, the Table Mountain, Lion’s Head. And on the other side a whole lot of nothing but ocean. It has something magical, each time I’m out there I need to pinch myself. Is this real life? I feel so, so lucky to being able to travel to these gorgeous destinations, and making these gorgeous backdrops my “working space” for a little bit. I wanted to show and feel the infinity of the potential in this world. Taking a moment to reflect, enjoy and think of how we can move forward. There’s so much we can do, but our minds tend to block our dreams with our fears from time to time. We need to break through that and see life, see the future, see ourselves. For me a special location can do just that. Sometimes I need to get out of the hustle and bustle of the big cities, out to either nature or a deserted place to let my thoughts go wild. No boundaries!

This outfit is definitely one I didn’t think I would be wearing at any time. I love jumpsuits, but they just never fit me. Being 1.80M tall my torso is too big too be sporting these items usually. When I was in London visiting the Reiss girls, they told me this one should work because they never heard of anyone not fitting in it (which doesn’t necessarily say anything) – but they’re guess was a right one and here I am, tall lady, wearing a jumpsuit! Never getting rid of this one!
