So far, I’ve described mainly trends that existed in the past and have made a return to the current fashion scene. Now I’d like to talk a little about one particular style that is relatively new and you won’t find in any historic fashion books or photos, one that had only entered the market a couple of years ago. I’m referring to the combination of pairing a dressy skirt with a simple sweater and sneakers for a toned down effect. Of course, the skirt has been around for ages, however, it would most certainly be paired with some type of heels or boots. Also, before this trend came along you would more likely pair the skirt with a blouse or singlet rather than a sweater. I would say that you will see this trend more during the Autumn months when the new winter collections hit the runways as opposed to any other season. I suppose the trend could be styled as an evening outfit in the warmer months as well, seeing as a sweater may come in handy when the sun has set. This outfit is feminine, sophisticated, elegant and effortless as it is appropriate for almost every occasion.
