Being the skipper of my own ship means deciding what I want to do, whenever I want to do it. But also having the responsibility for whatever the results of my actions are. Some times extremely good, sometimes I think I shouldn’t have acted so impulsively. My decision to go to New York City for a month to discover what I can actually do here and how it is to live here was one of the good ones. I’ve been here for a 1,5 week and it’s been more than amazing so far. Loads of meetings, events, but also fun stuff like trying out new restaurants, meeting with friends and so on. It’s busy, and busy is usually good. Slowly starting to think about my first NYFW, which is coming up in less than two weeks. Now I’m not the biggest fashion week fan, it’s hectic and kind of a circus – but it can be fun too. Apart from attending the shows and seeing the newest collection, it’s a great time to catch up with old friends and new business contacts. I’ll leave here so much “richer” socially. Really, spending time with people you know, new contacts and friends is worth so much. You never know what comes out of it! After New York I’ll fly straight to London for a short visit for their LFW, skipping Paris and Milan probably to catch up with my friends and family back home. Some I haven’t seen for months! Don’t get me wrong, traveling is my fave thing to do in the whole wide world, but it also means missing people you love back home. Fortunately my husband is able to travel with me and work from wherever we are, so that’s good. So good!
