Yes there’s a pattern here. Color wise I mean. I’m all into black, red and white since I’ve been in the city. Some of you guys have been noticing me dressing slightly different from how I would back in Europe, but I guess it just has to do with wherever I am. Cities inspire me like nothing else, and New York has a certain vibe to it that I can’t explain to people who’ve never been. I always tell my parents and friends that never made the trip over so far, that the Big Apple is a place you either love or hate – but have to experience yourself in order to be able to judge what side you’re on. And guess where I’m at? Yes people: obsession. Anyway, back to what it’s all about on this website. If you’d ask me I’d say this look is the perfect balance between sexy, tough and feminine. Another way to wear those party dresses during the day. Don’t let them hang in your closet for too long, try to follow the tips below and see if it works for you.

  1. Show some skin! Nothing beats a bare leg or arm here or there. However strange that may sound, showing some skin can definitely elevate a look. Not too much though, because naked becomes tacky very easily. This dress actually comes with another nude color dress underneath, but I decided to just wear the top layer and add a little shiny skirt instead.
  2. Leather. Or in this case: patent leather. Playing with fabrics can make a look so much more interesting, even when it’s all in the same color. Or maybe especially when it’s all in the same hue. There’s something sophisticated to it that I absolutely adore.
  3. Retro. Another trending theme here on Raspberry & Rouge. Nothing is more acceptable these days than raiding your mom’s (or grandmother’s?) closet. Try those funky sneakers, crazy sunglasses or in this case scrunchies with your special occasion wear. You’d be surprised by the effect!

That was it, my tips to wear your pretty dresses during the day. I’ve posted another editorial here, and here, to complete the story. Hope you guys liked it! And don’t forget to browse through for your newest success story at discount rates – dressing down is the new dressing up!
