Wearing: Self Portrait dress, Levi’s denim jacket, Adidas Stan Smith sneakers.
Loads of girls dream about their wedding dress since they were little kids. I was definitely one of them! But then, straight after Ralph proposed back in February, I decided I wanted to do it slightly different than how I always thought I would. No princess-y dress for me! Not only because it was actually just the two of us, and the occasion didn’t feel right for something as exaggerated, but primarily because I felt like that wasn’t me. I’m not the kinda girl who like to be in the centre of the attention. I wanted to have a dress that was both very wearable and affordable. I wouldn’t spend tens of thousands of dollars of a wedding dress I’d only wear for a few hours. I have nothing against splurging on outfits for your wedding day, don’t get me wrong, it’s just not for me. The idea of being able to wear my dress again after I got married really appealed to me. Perhaps I will not in the end, but the fact that I can makes me happy. For special occasions only. Or not! Because how awesome is the dress paired with a denim jacket and Stan Smiths? After walking around in my heels for hours that day I decided to change back into the shoes that were the most comfy I brought with me. I love how it works in a casual ensemble like this as well! And those (corny) bright colors of Times Square on the background: what’s not to like? Can’t wait to be back here sooooooon!
