And with paradise, I mean paradise. I had a meeting yesterday and one of the girls from the PR agency cam up to me and said: “Thank you! Thanks to you we discovered the Montage hotel, and decided to give it a go after seeing your snaps. We loved it, a little piece of paradise!”. For one, it’s a great compliment, I love it when people get inspired by what I’ve shared, but more importantly it confirms what I’m trying to tell you here. Paradise. I’ve never been to Laguna Beach before, and I didn’t really know what to expect. All I know is what I’ve seen in the eponymous TV show on MTV, and I’m not sure if that is what you’d call a decent impression of what it’s actually like. The big cliffs and gorgeous coastline is to die for, the sunsets are so amazing and the centre of this beach town (or is it a city?) is so quaint. The perfect spot to wind down after the Coachella madness.

We stayed at the Montage hotel during what felt like the shortest 24 hours in my life, I really didn’t want to leave! A room with a view, perhaps the sickest pool I’ve ever laid my eyes on and right on the beach. Great service, yummy food and awesome service. Nothing but good about this hotel, apart from the price tag perhaps. But I tell ya, it’s worth every cent of your money! I totally get why loads of couples get married here. A friend of mine calls it the best hotel she’s ever stayed and I totally get why now.

Right across the street, in walking distance from our hotel was this awesome looking (super retro!) 50s diner called Ruby’s. We drove past it on our way there, and figured we should at least give it a try and see if the food is ok too. Because some of those places look amazing, but last like sh*. This one was actually pretty decent, we had a strawberry shake (doesn’t get more old school than this one with a cherry on top, see my Instagram here) and the Ahi tuna burger. A definitive do!

Watch the sunset from one of the beaches. Because we were staying right on the beach, we could just walk down to watch the sun set in the ocean. Jaw dropping gorgeous, like really. And I’m obsessed with sunsets so I sort of know what I’m talking about, or at least I like to think so. Glass of wine in my hand, husband by my side, not much more to wish for, no?
