You know the saying “when in Rome…”, well “when in New York” seeing a Broadway show is one of the absolute unmissable things you need to experience. Yet, I’ve never been before. Until now that is. Why? I guess it’s one of those things that you know you’d like to do one day, but always keep on postponing because you know you’ll do it one day. But then that one day never comes. Well. That one day did come! And I’m so happy it did. Even if you’re not a regular theatre-goer, it’s almost impossible not to get caught up in the hype around Broadway productions in New York. There are so many shows in so many different theaters on a day to day basis! You could see a different show each night for weeks and still not even scratch the surface!

“When in New York City…”

Making the most of your theatre experience never gets old: from deciding what show to see and picking what outfit to wear (I never pass up a good excuse to pull out all the stops), to figuring out where to grab a pre-show meal and which spot to hit up for a post-show cocktail, the possibilities can be overwhelming. That’s why I was so excited to be teaming up with the British Airways Visa Signature Credit Card by Chase to highlight an exclusive Broadway experience brought to me by this versatile card. With this card you can both earn bonus BA Avios and get access to Above & Beyond experiences like this. Win!!

On the night, everything was taken care of, and by that I really mean the full experience. Ralph and I already enjoyed the pre-fun getting dressed up for a night out on the town. It was the first Broadway show for both of us, so you can imagine our excitement. All we knew beforehand was a global layout of the evening that in this case evolved around watching “My Fair Lady”. Arriving at Lincoln Centre (pictured above) is an experience on its own, it’s such a special location. We quickly went inside to shelter from the rain and were welcomed with a glass of champagne. After a little bit we moved into the dining area of Lincoln Ristorante to enjoy a yummy 2 course meal – while enjoying a glass (or two) of wine, listening to one of the Broadway stars that was working on the show explain a little bit about the play we were about to see. Getting some background info and little peek into what goes into creating a grand show like “My Fair Lady” was pretty amazing since we didn’t really know what to expect (other than knowing the general story line, of course).

It was a classic in a new jacket so to say. The show itself was a good 3 hours, so you really get into it. It’s definitely a full night out! The stage, setting and actors, who we got to meet (!) afterwards, were exceeding all expectations. To close off the evening in style we enjoyed dessert and another glass of champagne, celebrating a beautiful experience brought to us by the British Airways Visa Signature Credit Card by Chase. So, thank you Chase and British Airways for this incredible experience, it’s definitely a night to remember!!
